Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve', motto. Lions Australia is part of an international association filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
Membership is open to all people of the community in good standing.
Our club was chartered in April 1972 and has grown to be a large and dynamic organisation of volunteers who devote a portion of their time to helping those in the community who need support.
The Club serves in the Pine Rivers district of Moreton Bay Regional Council and the Keperra and Ferny Grove districts of the Brisbane City Council. The Club Den is located in the suburb of Ferny Hills which is approximately 15 kilometres north west of the capital city of Brisbane in sub-tropical Queensland on the eastern seaboard of Australia.
The members of our club enjoy a rewarding mix of social and project activities depending on their capabilities and interests.
Our club has sponsored a Lioness Club which iin turn has sponsored a Kings Club, the membership of which is made up of physically and intellectually challenged young men and women. We have also sponsored a Leo Club. Our club has also sponsored several other Lions Clubs in adjacent districts.
We hold a Business Meeting (open to all members) at the Club Den on the first Wednesday and a Dinner Neeting on the third Wednesday of each month at the Arana Leagues Club, Dawson Parade, Keperra commencing 6.30pm for 7.00pm. The club also has a Den located in Ferny Hills. This venue is used for Business Meetings, social events and sometimes as an alternative to the Leagues Club for Dinner Meetings.
